Advance Directive Fair

Central Virginia VA Health Care System's Social Work Service will be honoring National Healthcare Decisions Day by hosting an Advance Directive Fair on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 9 am until 3 pm inside the South Mall of the Richmond VA Medical Center. 

Visit with an on-site Social Worker about what matters to you. Who might be a good choice to be your decision-maker? Will the person make decisions that are in line with your wishes?  What is the most important thing you want your decision-maker to know about your wishes?  

National Healthcare Decisions Day strives to provide much-needed information to the public, reduce the number of tragedies that occur when a patient’s wishes are unknown, and improve the ability of health care facilities and providers to offer informed and thoughtful guidance about advance health care planning to their patients. The VA strives to fulfill this every day through ongoing Advance Care Planning education with Veterans, their families and caregivers.
