Community Behavioral Health Services

Administrative office of Virginia Association of Community Services Board (VACSB) which represents and supports the 40 Community Services Boards in Virginia. This office promotes statewide coordination, improvement and expansion of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services to all individuals with developmental disabilities (intellectual and developmental disabilities and abuse of drugs and alcohol).



Community Services Boards provide services and programs that meet the residential, outpatient and day support needs of citizens with severe developmental illness, offers opportunities for occupational and residential independence for citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities, effectively treats citizens with substance abuse disorders, supports the care of elderly citizens with intellectual disabilities and their families and assist families in caring for members with developmental disabilities.
