Who We Are
The Emergency Department (ED) is located in the University of Virginia Medical Center. This level-one trauma center treats all types of adult and pediatric emergencies. Services include:
- Chest Pain Center, a five-bed unit for cardiovascular conditions
- Express Care, treating minor emergencies like sore throats, fevers, sprains and lacerations
- Women's Center for Emergency Care, a separate unit treating women with for obstetrical and gynecological complaints, postpartum needs, domestic violence issues and sexual assault
- Pediatric emergency department
