Who We Are
The Charlottesville Supplemental Rental Assistance Program (CSRAP) provides monthly rental assistance to tenants who qualify as Extremely Low and Low-Income households. These households are defined as households earning no more than 60 percent of the Area Median Income as determined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
CSRAP extends the reach of Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, a federal program that helps limit rent prices for low-income families to one-third of their income. Unlike Section 8 vouchers, CSRAP vouchers require recipients to look for housing within city limits first.
