Who We Are

Greater Richmond Field office staff of the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) provides services to help Virginians with disabilities prepare for, secure, retain or regain employment and become more independent and self-sufficient.

Information about employment, community living, assistive technology and disability determination service can be found on the website or by contacting a local office.  Find a Local Office or call 1-800-552-5019 to locate the office nearest you.

DARS can also provide counseling to people with disabilities resulting from birth defects, illness or disease, accidents or the stress of daily life. They evaluate the strengths and limitations of individuals, provide personal and vocational counseling, and arrange for medical care, vocational training and job placement. Services are focused in employment, community-based services, assistive technology/devices and equipment.
